Yankees vs Marlins Live Online :
Over at Yankees Stadium on Tuesday, the Miami Marlins and the New York Yankees will be continuing their MLB series.
Now that he is a Yankee, the other giant in the lineup, Aaron Judge is taking the pressure off Stanton.
Judge continues to be the Yankees leader and all his skills were on display Monday night in the Yankees’ annihilation of Stanton’s old team as the Bombers rolled to a 12-1 victory over the Marlins at Yankee Stadium behind a rocking-chair easy six innings of
In the Monday opener, the Yankees started out strong and didn’t let up on the way to a dominant 12-1 victory.
For Tuesday’s game, the Marlins will be bringing out LHP Jarlin Garcia in the start. Over his 16.0 innings and 1.12 ERA this year, Garcia has 11 Ks and six BBs.
Leading the way for the Marlins coming into this set was Derek Dietrich with 19 hits, seven runs and four RBI. In the Monday game, Dietrich went 0-for-5 while Starlin Castro went 0-for-3.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re going with RHP Masahiro Tanaka on Tuesday. In his 17.1 innings and 2-1 record this year, Tanaka has a 5.19 ERA with 18 Ks and two walks.
Coming into this series, Aaron Judge was the Yankees’ top hitter with 18 hits, 13 runs and nine RBI, while Brett Gardner and Didi Gregorious had 14 hits apiece. On Monday, Gregorious crushed two homers and provided three RBI with three RUns
The Marlins are 1-6 in their last seven Tuesday games and 0-4 in their last four in game two of a series. The over is 15-6-2 in Miami’s last 23 Tuesday games and Miami is 5-17 in their last 22 road games.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 5-1 in their last six Tuesday games and 8-2 in their last 10 in game two of a series. New York is also 4-0 in Tanaka’s last four starts in game two of a series and 10-4 in his last 14 starts.
Tanaka ran into some trouble during his last start against the pesky Red Sox, allowing six earned on seven hits—but he still got the win due to a nice offensive night by his teammates. As for Garcia, he’s looked pretty solid so far and it will be interesting to see how he fares against this Yankees lineup. The Yanks should win this game handily but the under looks somewhat attractive as well.
Judge owns a 12-game hitting streak and a 17-game Yankee Stadium hitting streak, dating to last season, the longest active home hitting streak in the majors. He leads the AL with 13 walks and has scored at least one run in seven straight games.
While all that is going on, Stanton is off to a cold start, much like the terrible weather that has engulfed the game this season. When Stanton fouled out to first base in that fifth inning, the boos cascaded down on him. Then in the seventh on his three-pitch strikeout, there were even more boos.
At some point Stanton is going to heat up, just like the weather. The Yankees will have their two Monster Sluggers. It’s going to happen.
By Judge doing so much now, though, he has helped take the glare of disappointment off Stanton. Stanton clearly is putting too much pressure on himself. When he struck out in the seventh, he complained after the first two pitches were called strikes by home-plate umpire Lance Barrett with the Yankees owning a huge lead.
It will get easier for Stanton once his swing comes together.
